Back To School Resources
Whether the school year will start from home, from school or a little of both, it is important that we provide our children with a healthy learning environment so they can continue to thrive. We’ve gathered a list of resources that you may find helpful to prepare you for a healthy school year!
Clark County School District will continue to provide meals to students through August 21, 2020. Additional details on food service after August 21 is still to be determined as of this post, but you can visit their website for food distribution locations and other community resources. For other tips, programs and information on how to eat healthy, visit our website.
If you are looking for back-to-school immunizations, the Southern Nevada Health District has several locations in the valley, including a mobile clinic. Make sure you call ahead to ensure you have all necessary paperwork before showing up. For more information click here.
The Clark County School District Phase II COVID 19 Reopening Plan includes the cancelation of all youth sports and activities. A recent study by the World Health Organization concludes 80 percent of children between the ages of 11 and 17 aren’t physically active enough1. Studies continue to show the link between healthy behaviors like eating well and being physically active with academic success. Sedentary time will likely increase this fall with the absence of school sports, recess and in-person Physical Education class, so it is very important that we provide our children with opportunities to move and be physically active during this time. For information and programs to help you stay active, visit our website or check out the resources below to help keep your child physically active.
