Pop-up Produce Market
We all know eating more fruits and veggies is good for your health, but it is not always easy. Some neighborhoods in the valley do not have easy access to fresh produce and that can make it difficult to eat healthier on a regular basis. The Get Healthy team and our partners want to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables by bringing a Pop-up Produce Market to the downtown Bonneville Transit Center (BTC) throughout September. The produce market at the BTC will sell fruits and veggies for about $1/pound or bundle and SNAP cards will be accepted as a form of payment. People who use their SNAP cards will also be eligible for the Double Up Food Bucks program and earn a coupon to apply to future produce purchases at participating locations. Additional services to be offered on-site at the pop-up include SNAP enrollment and nutrition information.
The Pop-up Market is open to everyone! In addition to accepting SNAP as a form of payment, the markets will also accept cash, debit and credit cards. The markets will be held on September 15th, 22nd and 29th from 2-6 pm. at the Bonneville Transit Center located on 101 E. Bonneville Ave, LV 89101. Come check out the market and enjoy some fresh fruits and veggies!
