New! SUN Bucks Grocery Benefit Means More $ for Food This Summer
In 2023, nearly 233,000 children in Nevada received free or reduced-price meals at their school and relied on this resource. When school is out for the summer, kids lose access to these healthy meals, but they still need nutritious food to grow healthy and strong.
This year, Nevada is offering the new SUN Bucks grocery benefit that provides families $120 per eligible school-aged child, so you can stretch your grocery budget and buy more of the foods your children love! If you’re already enrolled in benefits like SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR, your school-age children will automatically be enrolled in SUN Bucks.
If your child attends a school that offers the National School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, and your household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals, your child may automatically be enrolled in SUN Bucks.
If your family does not qualify for SUN Bucks, healthy and nutritious meals are available for all individuals aged 18 and under at SUN Meals sites. No paperwork or enrollment required.
