3 ways to enjoy exercise
Find an activity that you actually enjoy. The best kind of physical activity is the one you like doing. If you enjoy what you are doing then you are likely to make it a habit. It is easier to find motivation to continue doing things if you look forward to the activity. Ask yourself, what makes me feel good or what do I like doing? Your answer could be tennis, swimming, and/ or walking. Whichever activity you decide on, try fitting in time to perform that exercise or activity often.
Make it a habit. Have you ever done something in life and absolutely hated it at first, but over time you actually ended up loving it? Well, exercise can work in the same way. Some may find that when introduced to a new routine or lifestyle change, it can be hard to enjoy it. Over time, your body will become used to exercise and you may be surprised at how much you enjoy it and become better at doing it. Not only will you look good on the outside as your body starts to gain more muscle and tone, but you’ll feel even better on the inside knowing that you are living a healthier lifestyle.
Take off the pressure. Often times our exercise goals can add extra pressure and can get in the way of having fun. Remember, consistency is the main key! Progress will come in time and you will reach your goals. Burn out can happen when we don’t pace ourselves and think of it as a sprint and not a marathon. The ultimate goal is lifelong fitness so think of your progress with that time period in mind.
