The 5210 initiative provides guidelines to help children develop healthy habits!
This week, we are discussing the first number – 5! This refers to 5 or more recommended servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Fruits and vegetables are packed with nutrients your child needs to grow. Here are some tips to get more fruits and veggies in your child’s meals:

September is National #ChildhoodObesity Awareness Month! The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) developed the 5-2-1-0 recommendations to provide simple guidelines to help children develop healthy habits. They are:
- 5 or more servings of fruits and vegetables
- 2 or fewer hours of recreational screen time
- 1 or more hours of physical activity
- 0 sweetened beverages
