Before smoking was banned in most public places in the state, the Southern Nevada Health District sponsored a long-running campaign to promote and support restaurants in southern Nevada that were voluntarily smoke-free.
We would like to thank all the participants of the Smoke-Free Restaurant Campaign from 1999- 2005 for voluntarily going smoke-free, prior to the passage of the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act (NCIAA), to protect the health of their employees and customers.
These 300+ restaurants can be viewed in the 2005 Smoke-Free Restaurant Campaign list. PDF 278KB This list does not include all the restaurants that are now smoke-free, but only the ones that voluntarily participated in our campaign.
Although the passage of the NCIAA in 2006 requires all restaurants and most bars in Nevada to be smoke-free, we are aware that a small number of these establishments are not complying with the law.
We’re asking you to submit your favorite smoke-free restaurant or bar in Southern Nevada by emailing us the name and address of the location. We will post the list and keep it updated to help you make the best choice in limiting your exposure to secondhand smoke when visiting a local restaurant or bar.
This list is not an endorsement of any establishment by the Southern Nevada Health District and we reserve the right to refuse to post or remove any establishment that is not complying with the law. The Southern Nevada Health District wants to recognize the local restaurants and bars that continue to protect their employees and customers from secondhand smoke.
Email us at tobaccoprogram@snhdmail.org the name and cross streets or street address of your favorite smoke free restaurant and bar for inclusion on the list.
NOTE: Our recognition of these restaurants and bars is only in regards to their smoke free status and does not relate to other food safety issues.
