Kick Butts Day is an annual celebration of youth advocacy, leadership, and activism towards tobacco control.
This year, in collaboration with the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, we participated in Project 1200; a national awareness project about tobacco and secondhand smoke.
Project 1200 is an event that reminds the public and the media in a very real way that 1200 Americans die each day because of tobacco.
Youth advocates around the country organized displays of 1200 pairs of shoes that represent the real people – our family and friends who are killed by tobacco. Project 1200 was displayed in over 20 different states including Washington D.C., Texas, Florida, California.
