Southern Nevada Food Council
Equal access to healthy food for all Southern Nevadans.
The Southern Nevada Food Council will leverage the collective resources, expertise and passion of Southern Nevadans to influence the creation of an equitable and sustainable food environment through education and policy.
We support socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable food systems that promote health – the current and future health of individuals, communities, and the natural environment.
A healthy, sustainable food system is:
- Diverse in size and scale, geography, culture, and choice
- Economically balanced
A healthy, sustainable food system emphasizes, strengthens, and makes visible the interdependent and inseparable relationships between individual sectors (from production to waste disposal) and characteristics of the system.
